ASSESSORS
Assessors will make the decisions on competence, element by element, supported
by discussions with other assessors in the centre and with an internal verifier
appointed for that purpose by the centre.
INTERNAL VERIFICATION
The role of the internal verifier is to:
- Verify assessments monitoring assessment practice, planning the sample
to be taken, sampling assessment decisions, ensuring assessments are in line
with national standards and awarding body requirements
- Advise and support assessors identifying training needs, providing feedback
on performance, arranging training, providing briefing, giving advice and
guidance, allocating candidates
- Keep accurate records ensuring that assessors use appropriate documentation
and assessment systems that are fit for purpose, checking records of candidate
registration and requests for certification, maintaining records of internal
verification and sampling activity
- Liaise with the external verifier co-ordinating and managing visit requirements,
discussing interpretation of standards, obtaining updates and guidance
- Manage the workload of assessors ensuring access to assessment is maintained
for candidates with special assessment needs
